Pilots say the damnedest things...

I've been meaning to post this one for some time...

On the flight back from Oregon, we landed a few minutes early in Chicago. After waiting about ten minutes to pull up to the gate, the pilot announced:

"We're sorry about the delay folks, but we arrived early and kind of caught them unawares. We'll have the doors open in just a few minutes."

WTF? Seriously? It wasn't like we were pulling up to our friend's house unannounced or something! Shouldn't someone have known we were going to be landing early?!
